Did you know.... according to kids....

So this weekend I had a lot of my nieces and nephews around and I learned some great things from each of them and got asked some interesting questions . I thought I would share these with you all:
1. All girls are mermaids and boys are those other things like, Flounder and the other stuff.
2. Kimi is not as tough as Ryan... sorry about that.
3. There is going to be a tickle party and only boys are invited.... sorry girls.
4. Kimi should not get married because Aly doesn't want her too. (Friday)
5. Kimi needs to get married because she is a girl (Sunday)
6. I need to get married because KaLisi and Mya need more cousins and Kimi should get married too. (Told to me in the middle of Sacrament Meeting using their not so inside voices.)
7. Kevin should not get married because boys like girls and girls like boys, but Kevin is a boy so he needs to wait to get married (still don't understand this one.)
8. Is Santa married and if so did he get married in the temple?
9. Why did I move out of my house, did Grandma and Grandpa miss me so I needed to come home?
10. When am I going to move back because this is Grandma and Grandpa's house, not mine?
11. Girls like boys and boys like girls it is just that simple!
12. If you don't like your name change it to a color, it is quite hilarious... I am Blue Jennifer.... Yellow Aly, Pink Mommy, Purple KaLisi, etc.
13. Not getting your nails painted before going into public is the end of the world.
14. Shoe shopping should be done each day and a girl can never have enough shoes.
15. The mall is for playing on the toys, riding the escalator, getting gum balls, and trying on dresses. Nothing else.
16. Taking a nap is important because then you can play later at night.
17. Running around the house at night is scary when it is dark.
18. Girls are beautiful and gorgeous. boys are handsome!
19. Candy is a food group
20. Snacks are not meant to be healthy, it is another way to say I want chocolate.
21. Crying does not mean I am tired, it means I want what I want, hello!!!!
22. Playing barbies makes everything all right in the world.
23. If you can't find a husband on your own then never fear KaLisi and Mya will help you out!!!
24. When you love someone, you walk up to them, give them a hug, and say I love you!
As you can see it was a wonderful weekend and I learned lots of things. You gotta love kids and their directness. I will continue to enlighten you all as I am enlightened this holiday season!!!

Gratitude

I can't believe today is the last day of November. This month has flown by and when I wake up in the morning it will be gone. Crazy how that works, indeed. Well, being that it is the month of November I wanted to write a little a bit about what I am thankful for. I am thankful for my family because I have to admit they are the best and I love the holidays because there are all these children running around, life is crazy, you don't get any sleep, you sleep with your someone on your head, and wake up to little people (and sometimes big people-- you know who you are) jumping on you. Life doesn't get much better than this I have to say. So obviously I am grateful for all the little moments in my life. I am grateful for my friends because they are the best. They love me for me and are part of my fan club, it is great. I am grateful for the Church and the truths that come with the Church. I am grateful for my parents (yes they are part of my family but deserve a side note) because they are wonderful to put up with me a lot and love in spite of my whims in life. I am grateful for the truths of kids because they say it how it is and love you with all their hearts. I hope that I will be grateful all year long not just this season for all the wonderful people in my life and for my Savior who gave everything for my life.

Aida and the Carpenters

So last weekend I went on a little road trip with my fabtabulous friends to a play down in Orem call Aida. It was a lot of fun. We chatted all the way down, stopped for lunch in Farr West, and then went to the play. What is interesting about this play is that as I am watching it, I keep thinking to myself... do I really want them to get together or not. Ok, so if you don't know the story (which I did not before last weekend) there is this Egyptian princess who is engaged to this Captain of a boat for like nine years and on his last voyage he captures this women (who turns out to be a princess of the neighboring country that Egypt is at war with) any way and of course He falls in love with the girl, but there are complications (always!) and so you don't know if he will drop the Egyptian princess for the other princess. Funny twist the two princesses become friends even though the one doesn't know the other is a princess. So what happens... well that is the interesting part, you don't know quite how it will get resolved until it does, but the whole time I am watching this I am thinking who do I want him to end up with.... the girl he is madly in love with now or the girl who he has loved his whole life (I know this because he states it in the play)....... ? Is the one a fleeting feeling or is it true.... a very interesting and thought provoking play. Of course I know everyone that reads this will be like it is just a play don't read into it, but you know plays are about life, our lives, so it is interesting to think about.

Ok so the point of my blog today was not on the woes of love or analyzing this but to tell about my fun road trip. After the play we drove to PF Changs for dinner. (Side note we analyzed the play in the car on the way there.....) We had lots of fun and ate lots of good food. I am so glad I went. The car ride home was lots of fun especially since we were all tired and thank you Jeanna for getting us all home safely and not falling asleep. The rest of us all deny that we were sleeping but deep down we know we fell asleep at least once or maybe twice. We listened to music and are now experts on the Carpenters.. they will forever hold a "special" place in my heart. You girls are the best... you know who you are. Top of the World looking down on creation and the only explanation that I have........

Friends, Family, and Voting!!!

I haven't written much lately for many reasons, the main one being I have not taken the time to do so.... I have thought about writing a lot, but never done it because I wonder what to write. So here is the update on my life. I went to a BYU game the same weekend I flew in from Boston and it was tons of fun hanging out with my friends. BYU won, which was a plus, but the team has struggled some since then... but they are still in the top 25 so that is good. I have done lots of fun things with my friends: birthday parties, politic discussions, mortgage discussions, Gadiaton (spelling? )Robbers (you know who you are and the sign), spook allies, scary costumes, long chats on the phone, facebook conversations and new names given to some. It has been a fun month I have to admit. I also have been with my family too a lot: sleepovers, watching movies late into the night all in one bed, politic discussion, Panda Express, I don't get guys talks, I don't get girls talks (my brother), Christmas drawings, and the latest Halloween. We had a Halloween party (the day after) and it was so much fun. We had a fish pond, bean bag toss, cupcake walk, dressed up and the biggest hit a donut on a string eating contest. This tested our true skills and I wish I had the pictures because it was hilarious. It was a great night ending with a game of Rook (I think Ryan won...I don't remember it was too late) and 8 out of 10 kids falling asleep before it was all over. Yes my friends it has been a great month. Oh, yes I even worked a little as a sub and decided that I like it ok, although I think I would like my own classroom better because being a sub thus far I don't really get to teach and I never know what is going to happen. I like spontaneity and going with the flow, but I am not sure if I am cut out for this, any way. I hope you all enjoy my little note on life over the last month. I wish I had pictures but I don't this time.... so use your imagination. And last but not least remember to vote today... it is election day! The future is in our hands and it is up to us to exercise our right and VOTE!!! I will write more on some issues at a future date!
