My "Surprise" Farewell Party

Well I made it through my last day at work. It was hard especially when people started giving me hugs, but all good things must come to the end. At the end of the day after saying farewell to everyone I loaded my plants into my car and headed over to give them my badge (sniff, sniff), I had all ready given Jen (my replacement) my keys and this was adding salt to the wound. I walked into TLC 5 and oops there was everyone waiting for me.... well almost everyone. I guess I was suppose to go to TLC 4 first and then they were going to bring over to TLC 5 so I kinda ruined their plan, but I was still somewhat surprised!!! They said "Surprise" and so I acted surprised!!! Most every one of my employees was there, my co-workers, my boss, and thee boss. It was great. They had pizza, salad, and a cake for me. Lisa gave a little speech that made me cry and then handed me a card with a gift certificate for Barnes and Noble saying they thought I might have a little time on my hands now. They all know me well!! I am so excited to go to Barnes and Noble. It was lots of fun to eat and chat they are fabulous and I will miss them so much. I also received cards and presents from the kids and some of my employees. I felt so loved and that I had made a difference in some of their lives. So here I am the morning after writing this and getting teary eyed because it is over, but I know it is right. I know it is time to move on and try and make a difference in other lives!!

My Last Glimpse of TLC : Memories!

TLC Quilt : this was made one summer for a project with my clients. It has so many memories to me. Each client did a different square with what they liked, my teenagers are the best, I will miss them a great deal!

Another project we did at TLC in the basement. Tori (old employee) painted the tree and the hand prints are of all the clients and staff that attended or worked there at the time. My employees were so creative... go them!!!

Dramatical Cheesy... the night before

Twas the night before the end of my job and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse..... Dad and Mom visiting, Kevin off to the temple, and me sitting at the computer contemplating my life.... when all of a sudden I heard such a noise the door open wide with a creek and bang (partly due to the broken spot from Kimi's and mine last water fight) and in walked a tall dark handsome man with hair the color of sand, eyes that sparkled, and a look of true love on his face... I turned at the sound of his voice and what to my wondering eye should appear but him kneeling at my side asking me that question of all....... (are you all waiting with anticipation......).... Do you have a job my dear "handsomest woman of my acquaintance"? And with tears in my eyes I said oh sir I do not, well in 12 hours I will not!! Oh what should I do with the rest of my life? The handsome man replied come away with me and we will oh so happy be...... I thought to myself the answer I may have found to my deep contemplations, so I turned to the knight in shining armor and said to him please.... WAIT where did he go, I looked to and fro .......... oh, I must have fallen asleep at the computer tonight because I have been staying up late reading my books and oh he is gone my dear handsome prince..... oh what shall I do the day after tomorrow with my job leaving me and my knight gone missing..... so I guess I will send it out to you all; if you have an idea for my contemplating brain (and my cheesy story)... I guess that is what happens the night before your whole life will change..... I will miss my kids and my divas from work, but I know something else is waiting for me in real life or a dream!! I hope my story makes you sigh, cry, or laugh... but remember twas the night before my job ended and the next chapter of my life began........

Some things never change.....

Some things never change no matter how old we are....

KaLisi, Chele, Ally, and I playing at the park in Boise

Summer Fun..

Well this last summer I had lots of adventures. In April I went to DC area to visit Derek and April and the family. It was lots of fun and I will post some pictures of it later (once I figure that out). I also spent some time with my fabtabulous old roomies Char and Lacy and had lots of fun. Lacy and I had a "grand adventure " to Montana.... stories stories will come; and I spent a week with Chele and the girls in Boise including seeing the Twin Falls Temple. I also spent lots of time "hanging out" with the most fabulous friends in Ammon. A lot of these same girls are the ones I went to Hawaii with last summer and I look forward to lots of grand adventures to come. I also walked a 5K on the 4th of July and hopefully next year I will run that same race.
This summer I also became an aunt for the 13, 14, and 15th time. All on the same day, how cool is that. Among my traveling adventures I have had lots of family fun and been very blessed. I will write more details of my adventures as time passes and especially as I am no longer have a job (by choice of course).

My job.... for now...

So to back up a little... for the last four years I have been working at place called The Learning Center, a company that works with kids and adults with disabilities. I have made lots of friends and overall have enjoyed working there. I have learned a lot and have gained a greater appreciation for the simple things in life. These kids and adults have changed my life and I will miss them a great deal. My greatest teacher at TLC past away at the end of April and I miss him a great deal, but I realize how happy he is now and that is worth more than anything. He taught me to appreciate the simple things in life; to be grateful for the small accomplishments and to laugh at yourself. I miss this kid so much but I am so happy for him. I don't think I could have ever left my job with him there, but he left first so now it is ok to leave. I will miss many others of my co-workers and kids/adults but change is good, although hard at times. TLC will always hold a special place in my heart.... now if I can just get through Thursday without bawling my eyes out all will be good.

It has begun....

Well actually it began about twenty-fiveish years ago and now I have finally decided to start my own blog. It seems lately I have begun lots of new things so here I am beginning something new once again. The next few weeks will be very intersting in my life (although the last ones have been fun and exciting also) but now it is time to start over!!! If you don't all know I am quitting my job effective this Thursday. It seems strange to think I will not be working at TLC, but all good things must come to an end.
